MODEST MOUSE - The Best Room

This song is from the album Strangers to Ourselves(2015), released on Mar 17, 2015.
I'm not exactly sure about how to feel about this song. The production felt nice, but the lyrics confused the hell out of me. I couldn't find any connection between all those words. It felt like someone talking, rather than beautiful poetry. The vocals were harsh, but it suited the song really well. I loved the feel and vibe of this song more than the lyrics or the production.

    Scale: C Major
    Time Signature: 4/4
    Tempo: 95

    [INTRO] C
    [VERSE]
    C
    Let loose with your charms
    C
    Go reckless, unharmed
    Am
    We all signed the card:
    Am G
"Get well, but don't you try too hard"
    C
    The lessons unlearned
    C
    Oh, this meeting is adjourned
    Am
    Oh, these Western concerns
    Am G
Hold my place in line while I get your turn

    C Am
To the empty balconies we serenade
    Am G C
All the playgrounds where them kids don't get to play
    C Am
Dirty parkies went and chased them all away
    Am
To the game consoles to fatten

    [CHORUS]
    C
    The best room they have
    C
Is the last room you want
    Am
    The bathroom's outside
    Am
    Police tape is tied
    G C
    To the doorknobs of rooms
    C
    Nine through thirty-two
    Am
    These Western concerns
    Am
    We beg while we chew

    F G Am
These Western concerns are all I ever really learned to be concerned with
    Am F
But don't you, don't you know it's hard
    Dm Am
Feeling tired every time that you try?
    F Dm Am
Ain't it hard feeling tired all the time?

    C
The family living upstairs must have a fleet of rider lawn mowers
    Am
While the novelist to my right's convinced that every woman's a whore
    G C
But he bothers me time and again
    C Am
To set him up with my very best friends and I say, "What?!"
    Am
Says he doesn't restate but he will not shut up!

[INSTRUMENTAL] C Am C Am F Dm F Dm Am F Dm Am

    Am F
Well don't you, don't you know it's hard
    G Am
Feeling tired every time that you try?
    F Dm Am
Ain't it hard feeling tired all the time?
    Am
    Don't you, don't you know

    F
    I ain't goin' to bed
    G C
Ring my head in the woods right now
    F
    Scan for some mycelium
    G C
And bring a little back to town

    Am F
Well don't you, don't you know it's hard (I ain't goin' to bed)
    G Am
Feeling tired every time that you try? (Ring my head in the woods right now)
    F Dm Am
Ain't it hard feeling tired all the time?
    Am
(Scan for some mycelium and bring a little back to town)

    C
    Go reckless, unharmed
    C
Yep, the shut-ins, they're well armed
    Am
Well, we all led the charge
    Am G
'Til we ran aground in our party barge
    C
Every little gift was just one more part of their grift
    Am
    Oh, yeah, we know it
    Am
    Oh, yeah, we know it

    C
The best news that we got
    C
Was some dumb hokum we'd all bought
    Am
    Oh, though reckless, feeling great
    Am
We're the sexiest of all primates
    C
    Let loose with our charms
    C
Shake our ass and wave our arms
    Am
    All going apeshit
